A beautiful combination of mythology and suspense
After hearing nothing but amazing reviews about The Silent Patient, I was compelled to get it for myself. Being a suspense buff and reading mostly this genre, I expected this book to be extraordinary. And guess what? I can safely say that it lived up to my expectations. I was hooked from the beginning from the stories that were simultaneously moving forward to the reference to Greek mythology and connection with the female lead's silence. This book forces you to broaden your thinking, be critical and look at things from the third angle.
To be frank, at one point you can see what will be coming and how the story would conclude but why do I still emphasise on reading it? Because Alex Michaelides creates this entire setup and characters so beautifully that you enjoy how the story unfolds, how suspenses are revealed. Read it for the narration, which is flawless!
