"It took four nurses to hold Alicia down. She writhed and kicked and fought like a creature possessed. She didn't seem human, more like a wild animal; something monstrous."

In February I was on a business trip to the UK and the worst thing happened... I ran out of books to read on my return flight. So I did the only thing I could and popped into my nearest Waterstones and bought this book because the hype was too much and I needed to read it ASAP. I actually ended up gorging the whole thing on my flight and it was such a good read.

It is a Mystery/Thriller that I have seen compared to Gone Girl numerous times and while I can see the comparison, I personally think Gone Girl is better. This story is based on Alicia Berenson who was an artist devotedly in love with her husband Gabriel, until one day she shoots him five times in the head and never speaks another word again. We follow Theo who is a forensic pyschotherapist at the facility where Alicia is staying as he tries to break her silence and uncover what really happened.
