I received an ARC to read from the publisher and give my honest opinion.
This book gripped my attention from start to finish in what a lot of people are saying is 2019's Best Psychological Mystery. I put nothing together until the last chapter of this book and it had me reeling in astonishment. What puzzled me the most, is how a person could see someone they love get shot in the face five times....and not say a word. The author has written one heck of a book here and anyone who loved Gone Girl, will be astonished by this thriller. Five huge stars of entertainment!
What did I love? The author kept the story spinning until the end, I can count on one hand how many authors have stumped me and the story is magic. I had to read to the last page to really understand the entirety and I'm still reeling from the shock. Unless you have hours to fill don't pick up this book because you won't be able to put it down.
Would I buy this? This is a must read for 2019. Great for book groups or a solo read on a rainy day. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves a great mystery.
Thoughts for the author? With such a great book I'm wondering how the author will top this. The fact that there's already a movie coming makes it a great debut novel. Can't wait for the next one!
