The prologue opens with the narrator speaking and setting the stage. The main characters are introduced in the first chapter. Since the female does not speak after doing her unspeakable crime, we really do not know what is in her head and we do not hear her voice. Is she guilty of the crime she has been charged with? Is her therapist going to be able to reach her or is possible that his own issues will get in the way of healing Alicia ?
