The cover of The Silet Patient drew my attention as it's a lot different from my normal reads. I had to find out why this woman was covered with a sheet like this. From the synopsis, I was drawn into wondering why Alicia killed her husband, Gabriel, alongside the narrator. It's not every day such an occurrence happens, right? Why'd she do it? And why won't she explain things? Then we get to reading things and first thing is a journal excerpt of Alicia's and I automatically think back to my first journal where I only wanted to focus on the good things. Is Alicia bipolar like me? Or is this something more? And then we change from a journal entry to a narrative of some random guy who won't explain who he is but he's like obsessed with Alicia's case. Then to find out he's going to be part of her psychiatric care team when dude's a little off, I'm worried for Alicia. I am now invested and I need to know what's going on here.
