After reading Alex North's other novel, The Whisper Man, and LOVING it, I knew I had to grab this one as well. The story is very character driven from the beginning and I was pulled into the story immediately. Most of us went to school with a kid like Charlie - always on the fringe of the crowd, moody, dark, and maybe a little twisted. But HOW twisted is Charlie, exactly??

When you have a group of teenagers, it's always hard to predict what they'll do next, and it's even harder when they're kids that are a little bit out of the ordinary. The story that Paul is telling is scary and heartbreaking and you're not quite sure what is happening at all, until the very end. Is it a ghost? A monster in the forest? A plain, old fashioned murder mystery??? I won't spoil the big twist, but I honestly did not see it coming until JUST before it was revealed. I always love a good twist!
