This book preview is the prologue and the first two chapters, and I was completely hooked!
The prologue opens with a son and his mother getting escorted to the police station. A bloody crime has been completed, but there is still an air of mystery as to what really happened. However, whatever really happened the Police seem very sure it was carried out by the son's hands.
Chapter 1 was very intriguing as we me the main protagonist, the seeming troubled Detective Amanda Beck. Detective Beck in the graveyard visiting her deceased father gave another chilling element to the story.
Then in chapter 2 you meet Paul Adams visiting his dying mother and the relationship seems to be very estranged. What the mother says to her son sent chills and fear through my bones.
Is Paul and his mother the mother and son in the prologue?
What happened 25 years ago?
More important, what is happening now?
