Alex North has an uncanny ability to really throw you into his stories. The Shadows is an amazing thriller. You’re left at the edge of your seat thru the entire book questioning the past, and wondering what will happen in the present. Did someone die? If so who? Why? Will there be more murders? Who is Red-hands and what is it about him that makes him come to life in your dreams? The story at its core is about a boy longing for answers and a man discovering the truth. It’s about losing family, and love, but is written in a way that gives you goosebumps, and makes your hair stand on end.. what is it that hides in the Shadows? Do you really want to know? Does anyone? This is a definite must read for 2020.
