Twenty-five years ago, Charlie Crabtree committed a murder so shocking that it’s attracted the attention of copycats. Paul Adams remembers the case all too well: Crabtree—and his victim—were Paul’s friends. Paul has slowly put his life back together but must come back to his hometown. It's not long before things start to go wrong.
Paul is the main narrator of this story and chapters vary between the past and future. Detective Amanda Beck also has a few chapters she narrates. This got to be confusing at times and to me distracts from the story. The focus of a lot of this book is lucid dreaming and how it relates to these murders. I wouldn’t say this was a thriller but more of a mystery. There really wasn’t much tension and a feeling of you need to read this to figure out what happened type feel. Paul’s character was the most interesting part of the book. The ending felt a little rushed too and wasn’t what I expected.

Overall just 3 stars for me. It was interesting enough to keep me reading but lacked the substance I felt it could have had.
