I take back everything I said earlier. This book was pretty slow going at first and there was a lot of build up happening but the payoff and the ending were totally worth it. This is a perfect example of why I very rarely (like almost never) DNF a book because sometimes you really need the ending to pull it all together and this one did that beautifully. I loved his first book The Whisper Man (and still prefer that one to this) so I think I had really high expectations for this book and when there was not much going on in the first half I got a little discouraged about finishing it but I pushed through and I’m so glad I did. Great small town murder mystery/thriller book. If that’s the kind of books you like then I recommend you give this one a try. I’d also like to say that this cover is absolutely brilliant!! Once you understand the books meaning of the shadows and how the hands come into play it’s simply brilliant.
