Well Alex North has done it again! I loved The Whisper Man so I was extremely excited when I saw he had a second book coming out! This book is dark, dangerous, exciting and just wow! I love how he really paints a picture with how descriptive he can be about a person, place or thing. It’s a dark world and I feel myself as if I were the character!

It’s a fascinating story about how manipulative people can be. And how dangerous it is to be trusting of those around you. I had a reminder of Behind Her Eyes when reading this.
Told in alternating times, your thrown back to Paul Adams is a teenager and makes some questionable friends and how those friends murder one in the group. How the events unfolded. And then 25 years later, when he returns to his home town to say goodbye to his dying mother. People start turning up dead. What’s going on? Forced to face his past that’s colliding with the present, we see what Paul discovers. And I have to say, I was a bit shocked and wasn’t expecting that ending!
