The Shadows, like The Whisper Man, hooked me right from the start. I read it in one sitting. Alex North does such a great job with creepy. I love the subtle "are they supernatural?" touches he incorporates into his storytelling. He does such an excellent job with those *moments* that make you shiver.
This had such an interesting premise and I enjoyed reading how everything played out. I will say that the ending wasn't quite as emotionally satisfying as the ending of The Whisper Man, but overall this was an enjoyable thriller read. (I should also note that both are standalone thrillers, since I keep comparing them.) 3.5 stars!
