Thank you to Celadon Books for an early copy of The Shadows.

After reading The Whisper Man, which was a really great book, I was excited to read Alex North's next book, The Shadows. The cover alone is wonderful, and gives off a macabre vibe, which falls in line with his previous book.
Now, this story takes place in the same "universe" as The Whisper Man, and we're met, yet again, with detective Amanda Beck solving a gruesome murder in a small town.
While this one started off a little odd with a teenage cult of lucid dreamers, it slowly unfolded into a murder mystery that spans 25 years. While the end hit me with a few twists and turns I was definitely not expecting, it took awhile to get there and for everything to fit into place.
It was written very well, and had the same creepy undertone as The Whisper Man did, and was overall another great book by this author.
