Let me start by saying this book totally lived up to the hype! This dark tale left me guessing until the end!!! Once I started I was hooked! I absolutely love when a haunting tale slowly takes the reader back to the beginning. Each time this happens it seems that the past catches up with the present and then suddenly there is a plot twist so perfectly set up but still ends up catching me completely off guard . The Shadows was no exception, this creepy story will make you want to sleep with the lights on.
Twenty five years ago in the town small of Gritten Wood, a gruesome sacrificial murder was committed and one of the murders, fifteen year old, Charlie Crabtree seemingly disappeared into thin air. When another child is murdered in an alarmingly similar fashion a few hours away detective Amanda Beck heads back to the scene of the original crime. At the same time, Paul Adams heads back to his hometown of Gritten Wood to see his dying mother. Paul escaped the town and the horrors that happened there 25 years ago and has never wanted to return.
