What started off a bit slowly for a mystery like this soon gave me something to look forward to: the red hands. However, for some reason, the information dumps here and there seemed to disinterest me, not further informing me as to things relating to the plot, not characters. They were not huge paragraphs, but large and very apparent.
The shadows of what appeared to be dark and psychological seemed to be much like a shadow, there and then not, 'oh no, something is going to go wrong,' and then info dump. 'Action scene' and then not.
The ending of the excerpt left me desiring more, though the pacing is questionable and I do not believe I will read it. That does not mean you should not give it a try.
