Strong Beginning and a Cover that Screams 'Read Me!'
My first impression of The Shadows was 'I want that book!' The cover draws you in with a similar aspect that The Whisper Man did. In starting the prologue, you are already clued in that a child is dead, and the main characters mother is taking her son to the police station. So he is involved in some way, but how?
The first chapter we are introduced to Detective Amanda Beck, which I was very excited that this will showcase a female detective, which is not always common. The first chapter and how they find the body with details of the bloody handprints has me hooked!! This book has a strong beginning, tied together with an awesome cover! I am looking forward to it's release.
