I was hooked just after reading the first page. What did Paul do when he was 15? Why was he being escorted to the police station? Why has he not returned to his home town to visit his mom in 25 years? His dying mom says that they are doing it for Carl. Who's Carl? Does the murder scene that Detective Amanda Beck visits at the waste ground somehow connect to Paul? Detective Beck discovers bloody hand prints at the crime scene and during Paul's visit his mom suddenly sits up and starts yelling about bloody hand prints and yelling "It's in the house" What is in the house!! How does she know about the bloody hand prints? I need to know the answers!!
