Thank you to Bookishfirst for an ARC. I think this book isn't bad, but the writing style was not for me. I was definitely intrigued at the beginning as we get to know the characters such as Harlow, Ellis, and Tommy. But the writing style seemed to drag a bit for me. The author puts out a good description of the setting, and the multiple POVs of the characters to put out what they each have going on, but it was hard to keep up with the characters. It is definitely an important novel as the author talks about mental health issues, and I appreciate her tackling that issue, and because of that, there may not seem like a lot going and almost slow at times. I might try to reread this in a few months to get a new perspective on it, but for now, I think this book would be good for people who enjoy contemporaries or even literary fiction since it seems to have that tone.
