Overall, I did enjoy this book. I don't mind reading YA novels at all despite being well past YA age haha. It actually is great bc my teen daughter and I often share books. And this is one I will share with her. The description of West Finch, Maine is amazing. You feel like you are there too! It's very easy to visualize the place and see & smell the ocean, etc. The main characters, Harlow and her bestie Ellis as well as his brother Tommy, are not always the most likeable characters, but they're teenagers so. LOL. I think this book really did a great job dealing with mental illness. It is a tough subject and not easy to read about. It was very representative of today's teenagers and the confusing world within which they are growing up. Being a mom of a teen helps me to understand everything they are going through. The authors writing style is very thoughtful and easy to read. The ending wasn't my favorite of all time, but that's ok, I still recommend reading this one!
