West Finch is Depressing, and so are it's Occupants

Probably a Monday morning is not the best time to read a book that's incredibly depressing, because even less than sixty pages into The Sea Is Salt and So Am I, I struggle to find something uplifting about it. It's well written, but feels hopeless, so I think this is a story that has to be read in just the right state of mind to avoid getting sucked down.
