My very first impression was that there's a trigger warning at the beginning of the book. More books should do this. This book contains elements of suicidal ideation and depression. I thought "great!" I have a family member that might find this book relatable.

Unfortunately... the book's beginning didn't grip me in the slightest. It felt a little too literary to me. Like some of the literary magazines with stories in them that try to be deep, but at the same time end up being uninteresting.

The book might be good, the plot might be interesting... it just wasn't my cup of tea. Some people like this style though, and I hope they love it!
