Synopsis: Emily Proudman lost her acting agent, her job, and her apartment in one day. Scott Denny, a successful and charismatic CEO, offers Emily a summer job as a housekeeper on his remote, French estate where his wife Nina and young daughter, Aurelia, reside. Emily soon realizes that Scott and Nina are hiding dangerous secrets.

The main character seems pretty immature and lacks self awareness, but once you get past the first 10% or so, it was very tough to put down. This is a very atmospheric read and a fun summer mystery/thriller. I was hooked and read this in two sittings to figure out what was going on with this family, what the secrets were, and how they would unfold. I did not see the big twist and thought it was done really well. There are still a few lingering questions, but overall, was impressed with this debut. Thank you to the publisher for my advanced copy!
