Emily Proudman is a struggling actor and her life is a mess. When she’s suddenly fired from her office job she doesn’t know what she’s going to do - she’s broke and about to be evicted from her apartment. Scott Denny is the CEO of the company she was just fired from, and he hires her as a housekeeper for his remote estate in France. When Emily meets his wife Nina and daughter Aurelia, she is suddenly thrown into a strange world where nothing is as it seems.⁣⁣

This was a dark mystery with some suspense - something isn’t quite right at the estate and Anna finds herself wondering if there’s more going on than meets the eye. I enjoyed this novel and I was definitely invested in what would happen. It has the feel of Ruth Ware - the spooky atmosphere and dark current running through it. What will Anna discover behind closed doors?⁣⁣
