I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this one. It sounded intriguing, but had a bit of a slow start. Emily is kind of annoying at times as a narrator, but I was caught up in finding out what was going to happen to her, and I was glad I stuck with it through the end. It really picked up in the middle, and the end was very exciting! I thought I had it figured out, but then there were a few twists that kept it fresh. Emily is approached by a wealthy CEO to act as a companion to his wife living in rural France at a time when she needs it most. Is it luck or something more sinister though? Emily isn't sure what to think but takes a chance.
There were a few points that weren't really wrapped up by the end, so that may be unsatisfying to some readers. I liked the descriptive writing though, I could really picture the scenes. Overall, I thought it was a solid psychological thriller, with enough twists to keep the normal mystery reader entertained.
