I just have to start by saying a huge thank you to BookishFirst and Minotaur Books for giving me the chance to read this book ahead of today's publishing date. I had read the book jacket description and was so excited to find out more and this book DID NOT disappoint.
I was literally hooked from the very first page when Emily Proudman is having what can only be described as the worst couple of days of her life.She runs late getting back to her temp agency position after an audition and then she gets fired. She has not had much luck in the acting world or as a temp. She is trying to decide what her next step should be when "fate" intervenes in the form of an amazing nanny/personal assistant position from her very attractive ex-boss. She arrives at his French countryside estate, Querencia, and falls in love with the beauty that surrounds her. Her boss Scott's wife and daughter, Aurelia begin helping her feel like part of the family until she starts noticing some pretty odd things. The more Emily digs the stranger and darker things get.
This was a total page turner for me and was the perfect read to kick off the Summer season.
