An escape from a bad situation. Getting fired from her job, being evicted, and not wanting to burden her parents once again for a "loan," Emily accepts a job on a remote estate in France. But all is not as it seems, and she slowly discovers that secrets are a big part of Scott and Nina's lives, and they surround Aurelia, their daughter. Why doesn't she speak, and why does she have episodes, like starting a fire? An easy read with a slow build to the twists near the end. When I finished reading this I was amazed that it was a debut novel. It has a well thought out plot and a unique story line. Would I recommend this one? Absolutely!!
