I liked the book. When I finished reading it, what came in my mind was "home" is your safe place, not a place where you live with expensive furniture, perfect location, endless entertainment all over the place but no touched of love around it.

I liked Emily's character, the way the author wrote about her was perfectly fit for the theme.
It's also unique where the author  put the third person perspective without "the name" on the chapter, writing style like this is one of the factors that keep me guessing what will happen next or who is the "actual bad guy" for real.

The plot was not surprised me at all, I knew from the beginning there's something going on behind this "safe place". I'm more enjoyed how the characters driven me with more and more questions from page to page.

This book is perfect for summer read, and also a promising debut from Anna Downes.
