This First Look had me a bit confused because not much is revealed in the first two chapters. But I was definitely intrigued to see where the story was headed! Emily makes one bad decision after another, and her relationship with her adoptive parents is enough make her an unlikable character in my opinion. Scott, on the other hand, is strange -- he's definitely hiding something, and his propensity for self-harm, his racing thoughts, and his raging mood gives a distinct American Psycho feel. Downes gave me just enough to be interested without being able to predict what was coming next. Need to get my hands on this one!
