It may have taken me ages to review, for which I am so very sorry, but I loved how much I learned from this story. I took a class on intersectional environmentalism last semester and frequently referenced this book to relate to the injustices that have been pervasive in America for centuries. I recommended this book to many students in my class.
I thought that the cover was beautiful and the writing style was easy to follow and definitely kept me intrigued while reading. It is the kind of book that sticks with you long after you turn the final page. I have shared my copy with a friend in hopes that they too feel the same about the book as I do.
I would look to this book as a classroom resource if a youth edition were to ever come out.
