This well-researched story is the perfect book to read after the resurgence of knowledge (and social media discussion) of the 1923 death of Nancy Green, the Black woman who was a former slave, a housekeeper for a white family and the model (at their urging) for Aunt Jemima's Pancake Syrup and how she died in poverty. I have used my points to claim this book and look forward to updating my review.
