After a challenging life in Florida Mr. Sitwell fled and ended as an orphan in the Barclay house. Still there as an adult, he's unknowingly formed a family with the rest of the staff - a staff that's looked at dismissively by Mr. Barclay, which doesn't bode well when Barclay's investments don't go well. I have the feeling this book is a slow burn, and starts off by building a sense of community, before really pulling you into the issues of entitlement and systemic racism, and the combustion point they cause.
