My favorite thing about this book is the unique idea of the main character using an address book to look back over the people in her life. Doris is 96 years old and has lived a very interesting and tumultuous life around the world with people who’ve affected her in so many ways. The back and forth timeline flowed easily and I enjoyed the introduction of each new character and finding out the part they played in Doris’s life. I also liked that it blended into the present day and her great niece Jenny's life came more into focus. Such a sweet story that shows you to be grateful for every experience in your life, to persevere through hard times and treasure what you have, especially love in any form.
