The Red Address Book is reflective, sad, charming and emotional. I was so drawn into the life of Doris who is 96. She tells us the story of her life through her address book. Those who have died, those she has loved and those who have had an impact on her life. The story is of memories. Memories passed on to her niece who has struggles of her own. Doris is a lively and enduring character that sees the end of her life and she has a story to tell before it’s too late. A story to tell to the next generation. The ending was appropriate.

I really liked this story and the format. I take a look at my own address book and see names crossed off due to death, addresses changed as friends moved on, and people that I have lost contact with. Made me think.
