The book was extremely entertaining at first and I thought I had a winner, but it started disappointing me the more I read as the plot grew more and more syrupy and cliched. I still think back on some of the book as it had its lessons about old age and generation gaps, but overall I cannot suggest it wholeheartedly to most people, although I’m sure many people have enjoyed the book immensely through a less critical filter.
I think the characters at first seemed like people that were real or that I might’ve known but they developed into people that I don’t want to know and the type of people I’d avoid, but somehow they were having real life experiences that they wish they had had. Therefore I ended up caring less and less about what happened to them.
