Doris is a 96 year old woman who is contemplating her own mortality and the legacy she wants to leave behind. Her most prized possession is a red leather address book her father gave to her. Throughout her life she recorded names of all the people she came to know.
The story unfolds in two ways. Doris is living by herself in the present time and has caretakers coming to feed and bath her. She realizes her days are coming to an end and begins reviewing old photos, letters, and addresses in her book in order to pass them on to her grandniece Jenny. The highlight of her day is when she gets to video chat with Jenny and her family who live in America. The story of the amazing journey that was Doris's life starts unfolding as she begins remembering all her old friends and loves.
