This book appealed to me right off the bat because my mom had an address book and it is something that I inherited from her. It shows the past as far as people and addresses crossed off, added to and newly written. If only we would all go back and decipher our past relations, acquaintances and experiences. Doris reminds me so much of my elderly relatives, that have mostly passed. It is a sad part of life when we grow older and are no longer able to do for ourselves and must rely on others. I felt the familiar feeling when Doris saw in her address book, next to entries, Dead. My Mom's address book says the same in too many places. A great memory.
