Way too repetitious and sad

The sneak peek was funny and interesting. Suddenly the fake ex-husband was alive at his own funeral. I wanted to see where it was going. Unfortunately the book itself was very different. The would be hero and love interest had lost his young daughter to cancer. This fact was repeated over and over again. Obviously not an uplifting thought. The heroine was a mess of insecurities and childhood issues that made her difficult to read. The story tried to put up problems to be overcome before they can live happily ever after but the hero’s about face was too quick and contrived. One page he’s storming out and the next he’s coming back as if nothing happened. This book was just a mess. Felt too formulaic with actual plotting and dialogue ignored.
