I was sent this book for a fair and honest review
The story of Selena Jacobs and Knox McCoy. Two broken people who have been best friends since their college days. Both so broken neither think they can ever really be fixed.
He’s lost a child and life he thought was all that ever mattered. She could never trust because of her childhood. They are pushed together when they are thrown into the middle of a mystery Knox wants to protect her from perceived danger and she wants to protect him from himself and finally they can’t hide their decades old feelings they had buried for so long.
I took half a star because the mystery is set up to be something that will affect Selena when really, it’s all dropped and forgotten by the middle of the book.
The book over all was great though. Character development was amazing you could feel the pain of both characters and I loved the fact that the pain of Selena’s past is developed in a way that you usually don’t see in a romance heroine. I think she is very relatable to ordinary every day people as is Knox.
