Didn't Live Up To Expectations
While I’m definitely not new to the Harlequin line, and certainly know of their other “steamier” lines – this being one of them – this book took me by surprise.
It has an interesting romantic premise – “a woman having her best friend’s baby”. And, they’re re-introduced at a fake funeral set up by Selena’s ex-husband. And, she’s not Will’s only ex-wife either.
This plot is quickly dropped as the book moves into Will and Selena’s relationship. However the baby plot isn’t addressed until about 75% into the novel.
Juicy plot twists, delicious sensuality and intriguing scandal – this does live up to that aspect. However, this does have some foul language (the “f” word is used). That is something I don’t remember being in the other Desire books I’ve read.
This was a disappointment and turned me off the DESIRE series.
This is #1 of a six (6) part series so for those wondering how the Will plot pans out … you might need to read the rest of the series. I was not enticed enough to read past this one.
