I was hesitant going into this one based on the synopsis and title. The writing isn't the best, but it is for a younger audience than what I normally read. I think that's why it isn't really doing it for me. I was surprised to discover that I was invested in the characters really quickly, especially Shovel. I'd read more to see how Shovel grows throughout the story. I think the cover fits with the novel, but isn't my thing.
