I won't say I completely hated this book but I definitely did not love it in any way shape or form. I was extremely underwhelmed. I wanted more magic, more action, more fighting. But there was none to be given. This is mostly a love story. A disappointing love story but one nonetheless. Which, yeah that's fine, I enjoy romance books, but it is not what I was expecting from this story, from the synopsis. Plus the romance was just weird. They didn't like each other one chapter then the next they were everything to each other. It just didn't build up at all. I wasn't too overjoyed with the characters either, they were just there, telling the story. If that makes sense. I pretty much could see where the storyline was going early on, all the twists and plot, which really didn't help me to enjoy this book more. I thought the scrolls aspect were very interesting and thought they'd be more of the story but they're just mentioned now and then, so big let down there.
Definitely disappointed by this one. I won't be continuing the series.
