I absolutely loved this book. I found myself sucked into the story quickly and effortlessly.
I think the first thing that a reader should get through their head is this story is more about a girl named Shadow with a side of Cal (the queen's assassin). The book is constantly jumping between their two perspectives while the story line is cohesive. I didn't find myself wanted to skip ahead.
No spoilers here but the book does have a twist ending which I enjoyed. Near the beginning of the book, I actually thought about that twist (even though I didn't know it was a twist) but as I read on I slowly forgot about my thought until the end.
If the second book is not called the "The Queen's Secret", I'm going to be very disappointed. Go pick up the book and read it, you wont be disappointed!
