This book was pretty good overall, but i have to admit that there were certain points in the book that lost my attention. The ending was also not great tbh. And don't get me wrong I thought it was a great concept for a book but i dont think it was executed as well as it could've been. The fact that the main character was telling the story but she didn't feel the need to introduce herself until the very end threw me off. It was written in a way where the reader is sort of reading the main characters thoughts so it doesn't make much sense for the main character to be withholding information from herself. I think it had a lot of potential but it could've been a lot better. I read the second book as well and i found it sort of pointless because it was mostly about the two main characters being jealous. Also the fact that in the beginning of the first book the male lead saw the queen in person and was friends with her but when he saw her later in the book and she introduced herself as the female leads mom he didn't recognize her doesnt make much sense to me?
