The Queen's Assassin started off really exciting and strong. Really big fan of action and fantasy. The author is strong in her style of writing but the romance was too over the top for me. The love story between Shadow and Cal watered it down for me and made it too drawn out. It would have been better if Cal was her companion instead. Less love scenes would have been preferred. The action was really good though. It would be nice if the author told more about the Queen or Shadow's aunts. Either of those would had been more interesting. The book kept me occupied while I drove to work and it was exciting enough to keep me occupied. More Action and Less Romance. Overall good read and glad I picked it up
