Although I have long known who Melissa de la Cruz is in the author world, this is my first time reading any of her books. I know, crazy, right? I'm relatively new to reading YA fantasy books, so that is my excuse. With that being said, I have read the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard recently, and enjoyed the first two books, so I thought I would give this a try. I have only began to read the "first look," so this is only my first impression. So far, I want to know more about the story of Cal and Shadow. I want to find out the secrets that they uncover, so I will continue to read this one. It has already been purchased for my YA library collection, but I look forward to leaving a hopefully "good" review later!
