Good to a point, weird ending
I read another review that said something was off about this novel, and the writer of that review wasn’t exactly wrong. Things start out great. Good characters, interesting storyline, something where I want to keep reading. But about two thirds through things start falling flat. The characters start randomly making gah-gah eyes at each other (of course everyone knows that’s going to happen, it’s YA!), and it just felt forced. Then the ending... I won’t spoil it but jeesh. That was terrible and I don’t understand why an author would end a book like that. Nothing was resolved. No one was happy. Just... what was the point?
Do I wish that I hadn’t read it? No. I wish I had written my own ending instead of reading the authors though.
Would I read the sequel? Yes. I’d be curious to see where things go, but I don’t want to spend much money on it. If any.
Generous 3.5 Stars.
