Overall I liked the plot for this book. But it felt a bit more like an outline for a great story than a full finished book. The characters were good but not fully formed. There were moments that there was some great writing but others not.
One of the biggest problems I had while reading was, I felt like there were no transitions throughout the story. It was like I was watching a movie and one scene would just cut to the next. All of the sudden the day had changed and there was so much build up for literally nothing to happen.
That being said I still enjoyed reading this book. The dialogue was witty and the characters had some fun quirks. I would still read the next book since the end was dissatisfying and I would like to know how De la Cruz helps along the story.
