This was my first novel by this author and I was thrilled to be able to be one of the first people to get my hands on a copy. I will say that this gave me a lot of vibes that other fantasy novels have. It’s a pretty typical Queen-esque storyline. I think it benefits me to be someone who doesn’t always jump to the fantasy reads in the first place. It’s a little simplistic in the YA world which allows it to read easily for teens and adults alike. As a high school teacher, I highly recommend it.
