The Queen's Assassin was very action-packed and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time! The pacing was rapid, filled with action, and I was definitely pulled into the story!
The plot was intriguing, putting an interesting spin on tropes and going far past my expectations. However, the big reveal at the end was really obvious in the beginning, and I couldn't feel shocked about it. It took away from the plot as a whole and made the reading experience very frustrating.
I did also get confused at the shift in person. Shadow's stories were told in first person, but Caledon's was told in third person. It was a jarring switch each time, and I wish the author had just stuck to one. It made me very distracted.
I would definitely suggest reading this to anyone who is looking for a fun, interesting fantasy story. I am most likely going to keep a look out for more books in the series!
