This sample of 40 pages was absolutely wonderful! The beginning where the history is explained was riveting while getting the prologue from the generation before's perspective sets the book up nicely. Shadow is a very interesting character. She's brave, impulsive, intuitive, and intelligent. I am looking forward to reading more!
